Finding Joy In The Journey - How many times have I caught myself wishing for a time long gone or a time not yet come. This time of year, with the ups and downs of the weather, I find myself in that "wishing state" more than ever.

What I find most ironic about this state of mind is the fact that when I'm wishing for a time past, I only seem to remember the good about that time. I find myself wishing that my children were all toddlers again full of laughter and wonder and needs that I could easily fill. What I've forgotten is the fact that when I was in that time, I was wishing that my children were grown and could take care of their own needs.

I find myself wishing that I was 30 something, instead of 40 something. What I've forgotten is how unseasoned I was and how I thought marriage and children were so much work and when would I get a break. And now I'm dreading that break.

"Finding Joy In The Journey" has become my new motto. I realize that I can either live in a state of wishing for the past and never be truly be happy or I can find joy in the moment and be content.
