PDQ Corner Project of the Month
New Year's Resolutions - There are some positives about the new year and being able to start over, again & again & again. Thinking back on past resolutions has opened my eyes to a few interesting facts.

Lose Weight: Over the past 10 years, I have managed to loose that last 15lbs of baby weight exactly10 times. Meaning I've actually lost 150lbs. Not bad!

Get Fit: Over the years, I have purchased a treadmill, an elliptical, a recumbent bike, a stationary bike, a health rider, an ab roller, a gym membership, Wii Fit and most recently, PX90 which leads me to my next resolution…

Save Money: Still trying to figure this one out!

More "Me" Time: My "me" time success has included giving myself timeouts and making my family buy into it, faking sick and spending time reading in the bathroom, grocery shopping alone and considering running out of gas on purpose.

As you can see, I’m not very good with resolutions. This year I’ve decided to follow Colin Powell’s motto, "I try to be the same person I was yesterday."

Have a Happy New Year &

Even spacing: When making an illusion necklace it is sometimes difficult to get the spacing of the beads perfect. A quick, easy trick is to use correction fluid (white out) to mark where you need to crimp. It will come right off or be covered up after setting the crimp.

Consistent Loops: Making consistent head pin loops can be nearly impossible. A simple trick I learned is to slide an 8mm bead on to your head pin after you have added the beads for the earring and before you make your final snip. Make your final snip next to the 8mm bead, remove the 8mm bead and make your loop. Now your loops will be the same size.
