PDQ Corner Project of the Month

Mom to the Rescue Last week my husband and I took a much needed vacation to Florida. My oldest daughter, Haley, who is a senior in high school as well as attending cosmetology school, and working at a sandwich shop, agreed to take care of my younger two daughters for the week. All seemed to be going smoothly until day five.

Although being two hours earlier in Florida, I was still laying in bed when the phone rang. Haley proceeded to explain, in a rather shrill voice, that it was time for her to leave for school and her younger sister Abby was sick. Haley couldn't be late and she didn't know what to do and to top it off she had forgotten to pick up the medicine that Abby needed.

I calmly told her not to worry; I would take care of it. I hung up the phone and called my mom. I proceeded to explain, in a not so shrill voice, what was going on at home. She calmly told me not to worry and that she would take care of it. Moms are the best!

Upon returning home Haley greeted me with, "I'm never doing that again and by the way, I'm only having dogs when I get married!"

Tricks of the Trade

Hair products for beads? Bring back the shine and luster to any of your dull, flat or lifeless beads by using a little spray wax for hair styling. Silicone-based shine-serum is the best restorative treatment for vintage or new resin, plastic, or Lucite beads.
