Now's the time to stand & be heard - With Election Day just around the corner, I thought it the perfect time to get on my soap box and encourage all of us to stand and be heard. It wasn't until 1920 that women were granted the right to vote. Incredibly brave women suffered many atrocities to gain that right. Alice Paul was one of these women. She was jailed and when she chose to go on a hunger strike, a feeding tube was forced down her throat. When Woodrow Wilson tried to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane, the doctor refused. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn't make her crazy. Women have a stronger voice than ever before. We can make a difference by just choosing to be heard. In many states the family unit is being challenged on the ballot. Would we let these women down who fought for our right to be heard? Don't let excuses like carpools, weather or thoughts that our vote doesn't matter, keep us from voting this year. Have a great month & remember to |

![]() Citrine - From the earliest of times, citrine was called the "sun stone" and the gemstone was thought capable of holding sunlight and useful in the protection from snakebites. Its color was associated with gold and it became known as the merchant's stone. It was thought to improve communication and to attract wealth. Check out our Citrine projects : |
![]() This is a great idea I found for storing your earrings: Take a piece of embroidery cloth and attach it to an embroidery hoop. Hang the hoop on your wall and suddenly you have a convenient place to hang lots of earrings. With four daughters, I'm always finding earrings everywhere. I think I'll hang one in every bathroom and every bedroom. |
