Last night as I was spending a relaxing Sunday evening with my family, we decided to put in one of our families home videos. We spent the next two hours laughing hysterically.
After getting everyone off to bed and cleaning up the kitchen, I had a few quiet moments to myself. I thought back on the 19 years that had passed since my oldest child was born and I couldn't begin to imagine where the years had gone.
Where had the days of cuddly babies and baby smells gone. Pushing swings and tying shoes. Kissing scrapes and wiping tears. Tickling toes and bubble baths. Bedtime stories and playing pretend.
I remember not believing "older and wiser" mothers when they said to me, don't wish this time away. Enjoy every minute because it will be gone faster then you think.
Now I'm "older and wiser" and find myself saying the same thing to every young mother I see. Live in the moment and make the best!
