Today’s my 40 something birthday and I’m wondering how I suddenly became my mother’s age. I remember as a child thinking I would never be as old as my mother (I think she was only 36 at the time). I always swore I’d do things differently than her, until one day I found myself….
* Counting to 5 to get a child to move. So after 40 something years of fighting it, I’ve decided to embrace who I’ve become. A loving, caring, sometimes not very “cool”, but always trying to do her best, Mother, just like my Mom. I can’t imagine wanting to be anything else.
