This is truly my favorite time of year. The smells, the colors, the fact that the kids are back in school. No, actually my favorite thing about fall is the feeling of newness. My kids are excited about new clothes, new shoes, new teachers, and I'm excited about starting new goals, new schedules and my favorite, new projects.
I love that the weather is getting cooler and I can pull out my deeper colored shirts and sweaters, which also gets me thinking about how to accessorize them. I love my jewelry from last year, but there are so many great new beads this year that I can't wait to create something new.
Our PDQ Design Team has put together some great fall pieces and more are in the works. Wood beads, Crochet beads, Semi Precious Stones, Copper and Leather are just a few of the things you'll be seeing this month and next. Don't forget, Friday is the day we post our new project for the week.

To give your bracelet or earrings a more dressed up look, finish them off with Crimp Covers. A crimp cover is a metal bead with an open seam along one side. To use one, just slip the open seam over the crimp and use pliers to squeeze the cover shut. Then all you see is a bead, instead of a crimp.
Chunky is definitely the trend for the fall season. Shoes are chunky, bags are chunky and beads are chunky. The colors are a neutral pallet with the main staple being wood. Other natural materials being used are shells, nuts, seeds, bamboo, horn, and bone.
